Abafoods brings production, quality and traceability into one live MES
Abafoods (Ecotone) produces plant-based drinks across five aseptic lines. Decisyon's MES connects production, quality and material handling so teams can act on live line losses, build digital batch records and trace nearly 1,000 product codes from ingredients to pallet.
The challenge
Paper quality records, duplicated spreadsheet entry and disconnected line data made it harder to see losses and follow a batch through UHT processing and packaging. Monthly OEE on driver machines historically ranged from 54–62%; teams needed reliable shift-level performance and traceability across a product portfolio of more than 980 SKUs.
The solution
Decisyon's MES joins machine and ERP data with operator inputs. It detects downtime and speed losses, tracks OEE on driver machines and mechanical efficiency on other equipment, captures in-process and HACCP critical-control checks digitally, and compiles lot-level electronic batch records at order closing. It links ingredient processing through filling and palletization, with interfaces to guided vehicles and automated warehouses.
The results
Production and quality teams now work from live performance, digital checks and batch-level records instead of reconciling paper and spreadsheets. Around 150 users can collaborate on line and order data. The 90% OEE figure is a per-shift target for driver machines, not an achieved result; 99% UHT availability and 98% filler efficiency are equipment targets, not verified gains. Predictive maintenance and guided weighing controls are future capabilities, not current outcomes.
